Our story
“I wanted to create a restaurant where food was not just a meal, but an experience.”
SDR is a legacy built over decades. It began in 1993, when Dr. S.D. Ponseelan founded the ABI Group of Companies with a commitment to quality and to the people it serves.
Years in business — and in food — shaped the idea of a restaurant where a meal is more than a meal. SDR Restaurant & Cafe opened its doors in Thoothukudi in 2020, bringing that legacy of quality and hospitality to every plate.
